7 Months, Really?!

Yep, it's true. Kyan turned 7 months old this past Tuesday. It really is as little unbelievable isn't' it? I mean 7 month olds aren't little babies anymore. Actually it seems like they are well on their way to 12 months. Can this be true? My little Kyan has left the little baby stage? I guess he has, but I'm still not saying that he is an old baby. He is right in the middle--standard baby.

No matter how old he is though, he is the sweetest thing around. I swear this kid is going to melt hearts his whole life with how sweet he is. He is so content with life too. Whatever is going on, he is ok with it. Pretty awesome characteristics to have I think. I love this little guy so much!

Kyan, here is what you are up to at 7 months....also a few things I just adore about you at this age:

*You sleep amazing! About 11.5 hours at night and still 3 naps (2-2 hrs and 1-1hr).
*You eat amazing! You will eat anything we give you and you love to do it!! :) You take 4 bottles a day and 3 meals of baby food.
*I can get you to laugh at almost any moment.
*You are very ticklish! This always brings on the giggles.
*You give the best snuggles!
*When you are sleepy (including every night when I put you to bed), you snuggle in on my shoulder, put your thumb in your mouth, and your other hand in my hair. Melts my heart every time.
*You roll anywhere and everywhere. You have picked up the skill of pivoting too--no longer getting stuck! :)
*You sit up all by yourself without constantly tipping over anymore.
*You love to investigate toys, and of course, stick them all in your mouth.
*You got your first tooth four days before your 7 month birthday (bottom right).
*You finished your first whole month of being watched by Aunt Crista while mom is at work--you love her, so you did great!
*You blow raspberries all the time! It is super cute too!
*You are very observant. You watch really closely things you are interested in.
*We started sign language with you this month. Obviously you haven't picked anything up yet, but you watch so closely!
*You are a constant smiler! :)
*You are babbling like crazy.
*You love to be sung to.
*You still think Mckinley is about the best thing in the world.
*You give your daddy HUGE smiles the second he walks in the door!
*You weight 19.8 lbs and you are 28.5 inches long!

We just love having you two kiddos so much. It is amazing how much joy can be found in a crazy night at home with messy dinners, bath time, stories, games of chase, tickles, and playing on the floor. Happy 7 months baby!

Looking at your sister of course!

We Start Them Young

I've grown up around football. Kevin has always loved football. We're a football enjoying family. So we are starting our kids young and instilling a love of football too. Mckinley has always LOVED watching football with her dad.

3 months old!

She went to her first game of Papa Randy's football at only a few months old. She then has gone the last two seasons as well!

15 months old!

I can't believe this is her third season of watching Papa coach football. She watches the Huskies every weekend they are on--excited about it too!

15 months old!

As I type she is playing with her toy football! The only thing we have sadly not done, is take her to a Husky game. We've been to a practice though!

Kyan is quickly following in her footsteps. He would watch football for hours if we let him (probably not really a love of football yet--more of a love of the bright colored TV)! Last weekend we took him to one of Papa's games. As with most stuff at this age, he has no idea what is really going on, but he seemed to like the people and activity. I'm sure that as he gets older he will grow the same love for it as his dad!

almost 7 months!

I see lots, and lots, and LOTS of football in our future. Funny thing though, I don't know if I can find the nerves to let Kyan ever play. We'll see if he even wants to--cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, we will just be the safe spectators! :)

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Last weekend we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We went to the same place this year that we did last year---Maris Farms is so fun and highly recommended! Unlike last year, this year Mckinley could really participate in a lot of the kid stuff. Her little personality is so funny. Lately she is almost always shy when she first meets someone or even for her grandmas and papas. She warms up pretty quickly though. Also, she is really starting to turn out to be against anything risky. She is a pretty big scaredy cat! She absolutely loved this big bounce balloon thing however. Check out the pics below of what pure joy looks like! :)

Kyan obviously wasn't really even sure what was going on, but he did well. This kid hardly ever gets upset...now of course I have jinxed this, but hopefully not! He is so go with the flow. He just rode in the Ergo and then took a little nap--I do not think I heard one whine or cry from him.

So we did some kid stuff, ate lunch, bounced around, watched some pig races, met a scarecrow on stilts, went down a slide through the middle of a hill, and picked out our pumpkin. All in all, a highly successful pumpkin patch day (especially since it didn't rain!). I love Fall!!

Ok...starting out clearly a little apprehensive about this place.

Really does not seem like she is going to like this, right?

And, nope I don't think she did!

This seemed like she was enjoying....

So I say, "Mckinley is this fun?"....this is what I get:

"No, Mckinley smile for me"....

Now it is time for the bounce thing...see what I mean about being a non-risk taker.

"Ok, maybe I'll try...."

"This is pretty fun..."

"This is awesome!!!"

Now for pumpkins!!!

Such a fun weekend!! It makes me SO excited for all of the holiday fun that is upon us!! Can't wait to share the pics!

Finally!!

First, I know I have been away a while, and I fully intend on updating you with some of our recent events (mostly a pumpkin patch visit!), but first for a long awaited post!

So do you remember back about 7 months ago Mckinley had the awesome opportunity to be in a commercial shoot? We had kind of given up hope that the commercial would actually air with her in it, but today one of Kevin's co-workers said she saw Mckinley on TV (apparently my sis-in-law told me she was in the commercial a week ago, but I somehow missed her saying it--oops!). As expected, it is only about 2 seconds of her face, but do you really expect a 20 month old to produce much more than 2 seconds of "looking sad"?

So here is the link to the commercial and Mckinley's 2 seconds of fame!

Word on the street is that she is in a second commercial starting November 1st. I will be sure to add that link as soon as I get it!

PS--Donate to Sleep Country, there are lots of foster kids in need! :)

PPS--Mckinley is in a second commercial now... http://www.youtube.com/sleepcountryusa#p/a/u/0/ugnsl8FRpH8
